Reinstall, transfer or delete a server
These actions change or remove the whole server. They’re on the Danger zone tab of Settings, under Manage. Make a backup before any of them. Backups stored in the panel survive a reinstall.
Reinstall the server
Section titled “Reinstall the server”Reinstall server stops the server and runs its original install again. Use it when the server software itself is broken. Your world and plugins usually stay, but the install may change or delete some files.
Start over with a fresh install
Section titled “Start over with a fresh install”Fresh install deletes every file, world, plugin, mod and setting, then installs the server from scratch. Click Erase files and reinstall to confirm. Panel backups stay, so you can still restore one afterwards.
Give the server to another player
Section titled “Give the server to another player”You can transfer a server to another player. They become the owner, and you lose all access once they accept.
- Under Transfer ownership, enter Their Minecraft name. They need a SwiftServers account with that Minecraft account linked.
- Press and hold Send request until the request sends.
- They accept the request on their dashboard.
The request ends after 7 days if they don’t answer. You can cancel it before then with Cancel request.
A transfer can’t go through when:
- The receiver has no free server slot.
- The server has an active subscription, or one still waiting for payment.
- The server is linked to a Velocity network.
If the plan renews with credits, the new owner’s credits pay from the next renewal on.
Delete the server
Section titled “Delete the server”Delete server deletes all files, worlds and data at once. It can’t be undone. Type the server’s name to confirm.
If the server had a paid plan:
- A subscription stays on your account and keeps renewing. Use it on another server from that server’s Upgrade page, or cancel it under Billing.
- A credit plan gives back the unused part of this month’s credits.
The delete dialog shows which of these applies before you confirm.
