Create a database
Some plugins can store their data in a MySQL database instead of files, for example LuckPerms, CoreProtect or a website plugin. If a plugin doesn’t ask for database details, you don’t need one.
The number of databases depends on the plan: 1 on Free, more on paid plans. See plans.
Create a database
Section titled “Create a database”- Open your server, then Manage, then Databases.
- Click Create a database.
- Enter a Database name. Use the plugin’s name, like
luckperms, so you know what it’s for. - Leave Allow connections from set to
%unless you know the exact IP address that should connect. - Click Create database.
The panel creates the username and password for you.
Connect a plugin
Section titled “Connect a plugin”- Open the database to see its Connection details: host and port, database name, username and password.
- Open the plugin’s config file in Files, for example
plugins/LuckPerms/config.yml. - Set the storage type to MySQL, then copy each value into the plugin’s config.
- Save the file and restart the server.
- Check the console for a message that the plugin connected.
Some plugins ask for one connection string instead. Copy the JDBC connection string under Advanced connection values.
Change the password or delete
Section titled “Change the password or delete”- Rotate password makes a new password. Update the plugin’s config with it and restart.
- Delete removes the database and all its data. Type the database name to confirm.
