Join your server
Every server has its own address, made from its name: <name>.swiftservers.org. You can see it under the server name in the panel, and Copy address copies it.
Add the server in Minecraft
Section titled “Add the server in Minecraft”- Open Minecraft on a version the server accepts.
- Click Multiplayer, then Add Server.
- In Server Address, paste
<name>.swiftservers.org. Don’t add a port. - Click Done and join.
- Open Minecraft and go to Play, then Servers.
- Click Add Server.
- In Server Address, enter
<name>.swiftservers.org. - In Port, enter
19132. - Save and join.
Bedrock players don’t need a Java account. Their names start with a dot on the server, like .Steve, so use that name when you whitelist them or make them operator.
If the server owner connected a custom domain, that address works the same way.
Join through the lobby
Section titled “Join through the lobby”You can also join play.swiftservers.org, the SwiftServers lobby. From there:
- Run
/join <name>to go to a server. - Use the compass in your hotbar to browse public servers.
- Run
/browse <name>to search for a server by its name or its owner.
See the lobby for everything else you can do there.
The first time you join
Section titled “The first time you join”Two things can happen on your first visit to the network:
- A quick check. Some new accounts see a map with numbers on it. Type the numbers in chat to continue. If you can’t use chat, type
/verifyfollowed by the numbers. You only do this once. - The network rules. A screen shows the SwiftServers rules. Click Accept & play to keep going.
If the server is asleep
Section titled “If the server is asleep”Free servers sleep when nobody has been online for a few minutes. You don’t need to do anything special. Join the address as usual and the network sends you to the lobby while the server wakes up. When it’s ready, you move to it automatically. This usually takes under a minute, longer when the startup queue is busy.
Version, account and whitelist
Section titled “Version, account and whitelist”- Version. Your game version has to be one the server accepts. On Paper, Purpur, Leaf, Arclight and Fabric servers the panel keeps ViaVersion and ViaBackwards installed, so most newer and older clients can join. Mod loaders need the exact version, and players need the same mods. Java clients older than 1.13 can’t join SwiftServers at all.
- Account. You need a genuine Minecraft account. Cracked launchers, TLauncher and offline accounts can’t join.
- Whitelist. If the server’s whitelist is on, only players on it can join. The owner manages it on the Players page.
